Carla I.C. Pinheiro

Carla I.C. Pinheiro is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IST, Universidade de Lisboa, and an integrated member of CQE (https://cqe.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/), and IMS in Portugal. Her main research interests include CO2 capture, solar-driven thermochemical energy storage and dynamic modelling and control of chemical processes. Since 2016, she has been the Principal Investigator of 2 research projects that got financial support from FCT, Portugal: “CaReCI-Carbon Emissions Reduction in the Cement Industry” (2016-2019) and “SoCaLTES-Solar-driven Ca- Looping Process for Thermochemical Energy Storage” (2019-ongoing). In 2022, she has been Team leader of project “SolMat4TCES-Solar-driven Calcination of Natural Geological Materials in a Fluidized Bed Reactor for Thermochemical Energy Storage” within the scope of the European program SFERA III.
